In an email, a SCCPSS spokesperson said, “Interviews are scheduled for late [this] week. There is no timeline for making a hire yet.”

The new head coach will inherit a winless team from 2025. Additionally, next season Groves moves up to Class AAAAA.

They will be in the same region as Benedictine, who went 11-3 and played for the Class AAAA State title; Jenkins, who went to the third round in Class AAA; Statesboro, who went to the second round in Class AAAAA; and Ware County, who went to the second round in Class AAAA.

Calvin Wells led the program for the past four seasons. He went 3-37.

The Rebels last winning season was 2014 when they went 6-4.
