How do you improve as a footballer once you hit 30 years of age? Not many know, but Harry Kane does. Arriving at Bayern at 30 years of age from Tottenham Hotspur, he has somehow gone from strength to strength in Munich and could be heading towards breaking the goal scoring record in the Bundesliga as he nears 33. Of course, Kane was hardly a chump over in London, but the way he has optimized his game, dictates matches, scores bucketloads of goals and does a little bit of absolutely everything at Bayern is superlative.

Luis Díaz will soon have to make that same adjustment. After all, he will celebrate his 30th birthday in the 2026/27 season. Fortunately, Díaz has a pretty good role model available to him. The former Liverpool player knows he can learn a lot from the England captain, too:

“I admire absolutely everything about him, because I don’t think there’s currently another striker like him,” Díaz told UEFA.com (captured by @iMiaSanMia). “He scores goals, he provides assists, he runs, he goes out on the pitch and pings you a pass from 30 yards away. He does everything with the ability he has but also mentally, I think he’s very strong as well.

“I’ve also learned a lot from him in that respect and I admire him for that, because he has an incredible mindset. He always wants to win, he always wants to help the team; he runs, he works hard, and that’s what’s important. Having a player like that on your team gives you a feeling of assurance. He’s very good. He can do it all.“

Of course, Díaz also gets plentiful praise for his mentality and effort on the pitch. As long as he brings the same drive and energy to preserving his fitness as he does to how he plays football, he should be fine. Still, having Kane around for tips never hurts.
