The Longhorns appeared to be cruising to a comfortable win, carrying a nine-point lead into the final two minutes of the game. But a stretch filled with hot shooting from NC State and Texas turnovers brought the Wolfpack back into the game. NC State's Tre Holloman made 1 of 2 free throws with 18 seconds remaining to tie the game at 66.
Then, it was the Longhorns' chance to make March memories.
They gave the ball to Tramon Mark, who finished with 17 points, and he became the hero for Texas with a game-winning jumper that gave the Longhorns the lead with just one second remaining. Texas stopped NC State's final prayer to seal the victory and ensure Mark's incredible shot stood as the game-winner.
