You’re starting to hear it for the first time all year – Moises Caicedo isn’t playing well. He’s had a few bad games in a row now, and his exceptional start to the year has definitively slowed. Many Chelsea fans are saying it, although it’s not quite hit the mainstream as an opinion yet.

The stats are starting to show it too. Just to take his FotMob stats – in the ten games up to and including the the West Ham game at the end of January, his ratings dropped below 7 only on 3 occasions. He was also rated as an 8 or above on 3 occasions.

In the 10 games after that, it’s the opposite. His rating only goes ABOVE 7 on three occasions. His last game above a 8 was against Burnley on the 21st of February.

Caicedo running out of steam at the worst moment

He looks knackered, and is playing in a team that’s falling apart. But that doesn’t mean we can ignore the fact he’s not playing well. A break might do him some good.

If he can’t get back into gear, we really are finished.

In other news…

Filip Jorgensen getting injured was a mad coincidence given he was about to be dropped, but he’s now had surgery and will miss a few weeks.

Liam Rosenior blamed translation issues for Enzo Fernandez’s declaration that was considering leaving Chelsea.
