In the final second between UConn and South Carolina in the Women’s Final Four, both teams were headed to the handshake line before a heated altercation occurred between Gamecocks head coach, Dawn Staley, and Huskies, Geno Auriemma.

It was a tough night for UConn overall shooting just 31% from the field and 29% from deep and a horrific 67% from the free throw line on just six total attempts from the stripe as well.

On the other end, South Carolina was connecting from everywhere shooting 38% with only two three-pointers made for the game. It was their ability to get to the line that gave them a massive boost shooting 18-22.

This is a game that Geno Auriemma would like to forget quickly from his teams performance, to his meltdown during an interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe and now to the altercation with the legendary Dawn Staley.

South Carolina advances to the National Championship on Sunday night where they await the winner of Texas vs. UCLA.
