The Pittsburgh Steelers and their quarterback position appear destined to go unresolved for the next few months.

With the franchise appearing to be waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision on his future and then move forward, Mike McCarthy's offense still doesn't know who will be leading it.

That's problematic.

Will Howard and Mason Rudolph are starting candidates on the roster if Rodgers doesn't return, but the quarterback position is in flux, as it has been for years.

But ESPN's Bill Barnwell has a solution, but some Steelers fans won't like it.

"Aaron Rodgers. Pittsburgh has let players such as Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Fields and Geno Smith pass by, even though it would have been able to add those quarterbacks on deals that are mostly paid by their former teams," Barnwell wrote.

"The Steelers could go after Kirk Cousins or Jimmy Garoppolo, but a reunion with Rodgers seems inevitable."

Is Rodgers Pittsburgh's answer?

You can make both arguments here.

On one hand, yes, as he likely gives the franchise the best chance to win games, but the ceiling is low.

And on the other hand, he isn't the answer because he won't lead this team to a Super Bowl, and given his age, going with the younger Howard could be the better option.

Cousins or Garoppolo are interesting options, and could offer more than Rodgers, but right now, the Steelers don't appear to know what direction they will be going in.

And as the draft approaches, that isn't a great spot to be in.
